Digi Haven Challenge "Days Gone By"

This week at Digi Haven, we are going Vintage. We were asked to use any Free Vintage or Old World image.

My card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Purple and Teal
Clearly Vintage Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Candy Can Stripe
Queen and Co Pearls Pearl, 4 Small
Mounting Tape

The image prints out in grayscale, which I think makes it look older anyway. I lightly colored the skin, dresses, shoes and hair. When I look at this image, I think that this could have been me and my best friend. (I'm the one in blue...lol She is a little daintier than I am....hahaha). I should send this to her for her birthday....now there's a thought!

Hope you like what I made. Thanks for stopping by. I would love to hear what you think (so leave a comment).

Join us for the challenge...there are lots of free vintage images out there!

"Letting Kids Be Kids" Challenge at Digi Haven

If you are looking for the CardzTV Challenge, click here.

It's Friday and time for another great Digi Haven Challenge. This week we want to see a free image of a child doing something... like walking a dog, eating, flying a kite etc. A kid just being a kid!

Here is my card:

And the inside:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Purple and Patterned Paper
Dearie Dolls Digital Stamps
Spectrum Noir Markers
Sizzix Photo Corners

This card is pretty simple. I tried to make it look like a photo in a scrapbook (so no extra layers or glitter etc this week). I added the line around the edge with a black marker (to signify the edge of a photograph). I think it looks like it. lol

Hope you decide to join us this week. Just remember, if you do, please link back to the original artist (so they get the credit they deserve!)

Thanks for dropping by...please leave a comment.

Side note:
(lol I had pre-posted this card. Please check out my card for the CardzTV Challenge.....you might find it a bit ironic after reading the inside sentiment here...I did! lol)

CardzTV DT Challenge #13: Color Challenge

If you are looking for the Digi Haven Challenge: click here.

This is CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Challenge and this time, we have a color challenge. Aren't they so much fun...and a lot of freedom. The challenge runs from the 17th until the 23rd and the winner will receive one of Mary's CardzTV stamp sets. Here are the colors: Marigold Yellow, Royal Blue, Rich Purple and Gray (you may use small amounts of Black and White also).

I have a birthday coming up, so I made myself a card. (Can you tell how I am feeling about it?)

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Black, Marigold Yellow, Royal Blue and Patterned Paper
Cricut Cartridge Over The Hill Cake, page 15 (Buttons 21 and 31)
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps Make a Wish, "Over the Hill"
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Spiderweb
Martha Stewart Edge Punch Drippy Goo
Clear Glitter
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
White, Purple and Gray Pigment Ink
Studio G Mini Spider Punch
Mounting Tape

Not my usual style card...

I used purple pigment ink on the candelabra and gray on the stand. I thought the candles would stand out more with the Glossy Accents and the flames with glitter.

Guess my mood is also due to work and all the Halloween/Fall merchandise coming in. Add to it that I injured myself (at work)...Popped a rib out of place...I know, You did what? Yep that's what I said, Popped a rib. (I didn't know you could do such a thing!) However, I went to the chiropractor (twice) and he popped it back into place. Who knew?....

Hope you decide to join the challenge. Please leave a comment.

Side note:
(lol I had pre-posted the card for the Digi Haven Challenge and I hope you check it out...I think it is certainly ironic!...especially the inside sentiment. lol)

Digi Haven Challenge "Yummy In My Tummy!"

This week at Digi Haven the challenge is "Yummy In My Tummy". Use any FREE FOOD and/or DRINK digital image. Please link back to the original artist.

Here is my card:

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Yellow and Patterned Paper
Meloonheadz Illustrating Digital Image
Spectrum Noir Markers
Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Ovals Large, 2nd and 3rd Largest
Glitter
Queen and Co Rhinestones Sunflower Yellow, 3 Small
Black Pigment Ink
Mounting Tape

Another great image from Melonheadz...I just love these images! (Can't you tell?) lol

I printed out the image twice and colored both lemons the same. I then cut one lemon out and single mounted it on top of the other one. I scraped the edges of the yellow scallop in black pigment ink to give them a little dimension. (And in an abstract kind-of-way, the yellow scallop reminded me of a lemon). I added glitter to the ice cubes and single mounted the pitcher.

Nothing like a ice cold glass of lemonade on a hot summer evening. Makes ya kindof thirsty, huh?

I, originally, had made another card for this challenge. however, when I went back and checked, the image was not free any longer. (So you see, we, the designers, have to make sure that the images are free also.) I will share the card with you and who created the image...just remember that it's NOT a freebie.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Brown and Patterned Paper
Diane's Digital Designs
Spectrum Noir Markers
CardzTV with Mary Clear Stamps FAQ's, "Got Milk?"
White Pigment Ink
Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Twenty-Three
Inkssentials Glossy Accents
Mounting Tape

My favorite...chocolate chip cookies! What's yours?

Now I thought I would point this out. I originally colored the "cookies" in red; however, after I covered the cookie jar in Glossy Accents, the letters changed color (to orange). It didn't bother me since I think this worked as well, but I thought you should know that this could happen.

Hope you take the challenge...I can't wait to see what you make.

Thanks for stopping by...leave me a comment! (I love reading them!)

I know there is about another month left of summer (thank goodness), however, here at Digi Haven, the challenge is to use a free digital image for "Back to School".
