Easter Basket

I made this card a while ago but never posted it, so I thought it would work for the challenge at Die Cuttin' Diva's Hippity Hoppity Challenge #8 (...love to see eggs, bunnies, chicks, crosses, baskets...).

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: Yellow, Two Shades of Green, White, Two Shades of Brown and Two Different Patterned Papers.
Cricut Cartridge Everyday Paper Dolls Outdoor (Basket) page 40 (Accessories Base)
Cricut Cartridge From My Kitchen Eggs page 66 (Shadow/Blackout Base)
Cricut Cartridge Mickey and Friends Sun (Grass) page 127 (Layers: Shoes/Ribbon/Hat Base and Shift)
Fiskars Rope Border Punch
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder D'Vine Swirls (Grass)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Inkssentials Glossy Accents (On eggs)
EK Success Small Ant Punch (Bunny in basket)
Fiskars Paper Edges (Scissors)
Ribbon
Brown Marking Pen (Stitches on Basket)

Computer Sentiment

I wanted to put a small bunny in the basket, but didn't have one. I saw the ant punch, then thought if I cut off the middle legs, it would look like a bunny...and it worked! Sometimes you just have to think outside of the box! I really like the way this card came out.

Hope you like it too...I would love to hear your comments and/or become a follower. Thanks.

Looks Like Spring

The challenge this week at Fantabulous Cricut is "Looks Like Spring" (Any springtime project).

Well, I love to garden and that's the first thing I think of when spring comes around. I can't wait to get outside, be in the sunshine and start my gardens. I like my floral gardens, they always bring me joy to look at the beautiful flowers, but I love the vegetable garden. It brings me back to when I was a kid with my Grandfather. He gardened every year...sting beans, tomatoes, onions, eggplant...just to name a few. Oh, happy memories! I miss him....

Cardstock: White, Two shades of Blue, Two shades of Orange, Green, Black, Red, Silver and Patterned Paper.
Cricut Cartridge Freshly Picked Tomato page 69 (Base, Shift Base, Layers Base and Words Base), Spade page 62 (Base and Shift Base), Rake page 60 (Base and Shift Base), Gloves 2 page 56 (Base), Flowers 5 (Pot) page 39 (Shift Base and Layers Base)

I hope that I may have inspired you to either make a spring card and/or get out there and try some gardening (plant something for me)...just imagine what you could do.....

Marigolds

Thought I would enter this card in three different challenges...Die Cuttin' Diva's (gardening cut), The Paper Variety (tic tac toe...use 2+ flowers, spring colors and scallops) and CropStop (use lace, real or paper).

I thought the potted marigolds would work for gardening. The flowers are the marigolds and the ones on the background paper, the pastel colors for spring colors and scallops at the bottom. The "lace" is the blue swirls.

Finished Card: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"

Materials:
Cardstock: White, Two Shades of  Green, Two Shades of Purple, Blue, Two Shades of Yellow and Patterned Paper.
Cricut Cartridge Freshly Picked Flower 3 page 32 (Base, Shift Base, Layers Base and Shift, Layers 2/Shadow Base and Shift and Words Base and Shift)
Cricut Cartridge Paper Lace Dove 2 (Swirl) page 33 (Lace 2 Base)

Crabby Card

Thought I would play along with Two Scraptastic Gals "Life's A Beach" Challenge and Die Cuttin' Diva's  Unused and Unloved Challenge (Use a cart that you never or rarely use and use a cut you have never used).

Fun, silly card. Think I'll have to use both these carts more...lol.

Cardstock: White, Blue, Yellow, Red Patterned Paper, Blue Patterned Paper and Sandpaper

Here's a little glimmer that Spring is on it's way...
I saw my first robin a couple of days ago. This one was sitting out back this morning. Actually, he was out front first, on a pole (picture perfect), but I didn't have my camera handy. I ran upstairs to get it, but he was gone by the time I got back. I looked out back (just in case) and there he was. (Yes, I do realize that it COULD be a different robin, but I really don't think so...he was a fat bugger...lol)

Hoping that your day goes well...until the next posting....enjoy...imagine what you could do....

St Patrick's Day Project

I am so excited. This is my first "official" Fantabulous Cricut Challenge as a member on the Design Team. The challenge this week is "Hip to be Square, green and gold. Create a square card shape and include the two colors green & gold (bright yellow will do)". Saint Patrick's Day came to mind as soon as I read the challenge.

Here is what I came up with:
This is the card by itself:
 the inside:
the one side of the container (without the goodies):
and the other:

Materials

For the card:
Cardstock: Black, Bright Yellow and Green.
Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up Leprechaun (Shamrock) page 40, (Accessories 3 Shift)
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder Swiss Dots
Three Different Studio G Clear Stamps: "Luck of the Irish", "Happy St Patty's Day" and the Tall Clover
Yellow, Green and Black Pigment Ink ( I inked the edges of the squares with opposite colors and the shamrock with green)

For the container:
Cardstock: Black, Bright Yellow and Green
Cricut Cartridge Tags, Bags, Boxes and More Nutcup page 130 (Blackout)
EK Success Scallop Circle
EK Success 1 1/4" Circle
Two Different Studio G Clear Stamps: "Happy St Patty's Day" and "Erin Go Braugh"
Black Pigment Ink
Nicole Shamrock Stickers

Misc Materials:
Tissue Paper...put on the bottom of the container
Basket Accents Metallic Shred, Gold...layer on top of tissue paper
Candy...I used Reese's Peanut Butter Cups Miniatures, Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Miniatures and Chocolate Coins
Large Treat Bags
Green and White Curling Ribbon
Small Hole Punch

I made them up for my family as a treat for St Patty's Day.

This was a fun project. Hope you like it. Leave a comment and let me know. Thanks.

Now get out there and create something...have fun...imagine what you could do.....

A Rose is a Rose...is a Rose

Just a quick post. I wanted to share a photo of one of the roses that my son and husband bought for me at the Philadelphia International Flower Show. I was fortunate to go not once, but twice this week. I went with my good friend Linda, on Tuesday and my husband, my youngest son, Jeff and my neighbor and friend Janet on Saturday. I try to go every year. This year's theme was "Springtime In Paris". As always, it was wonderful.
Hoping that it brings a little joy to you.....imagine what you could do.....

Baby Card

(Side note...I went back to the old computer so I could post this...lol...not sure when I'll get the printer etc. hooked up on the new computer...read the earlier post today in order to understand this note...lol)

I feel like I haven't created a card in quite awhile...oh wait, I haven't...lol. It felt good to get back to it.

I thought that I would enter this card in four (4) different challenges...Two Scraptastic Gals (Use Stretch Your Imagination Cartridge), Scrappy Moms Stamps (Use B is for Boy/Sugar and Spice Cartridge or a similar cartridge), Die Cuttin' Diva's (Baby Love) and Cricut Cardz Challenge (Make a Tall Card 9" x 4").

and the inside:

I don't own either B is for Boys or Sugar and Spice Cartridges, but Sugar and Spice has a baby carriage image in it, so I thought that this would work.

Finished Card: 9" x 4"

Materials:
Cardstock: Two Shades of Pink and Deja Views Fresh Verse Childhood Vellum.
Cricut Cartridge Stretch Your Imagination Baby Buggy, page 71 (Base Shift and Silhouette Shift); Heart is cutout from the Silhouette Baby Buggy image.
Ribbon
Queen and Co. Pearls, Pearl
Mounting Tape

I hope that you noticed that I purposely centered "Angel" with the carriage. I didn't put any sentiment in the inside because I thought you could use this as a "Congratulations" card or as an announcement. Since it is
9" x 4", you can use regular business envelopes.

Enjoy the rest of the day...go create...(personally, I have to clean up my crafting space...woo hoo...then I can think about making something else...lol).........imagine what you could do........

New Computer

I have spoken about all the trouble I was having with my computer on several previous posts...well, I got a new one. It's different from my last one, so it will take some getting use to. The printer is not hooked up yet, so I can't post any new cards or photos. I hope this gets rectified shortly.

I guess I don't care for change, as most people don't. I'm use to doing things a certain way and I liked that. It was comfortable. I knew what I was doing.  I know, I know...getting old and set in my ways? No, not quite that bad yet...I hope!

Thought that I would just keep you updated. Hope to have some cards for you to see soon. In the meantime, keep your fingers crossed that I get the hang of this quickly. I appreciate it. Thanks.

Simple Shamrocks

I apologize that I haven't been around lately. I was working on a couple of other projects, went over to a friend's house to help her with some baking (maybe another post on that soon), had the taxes done and finally received my new appliances. It had been almost 3 weeks without a refrigerator in the kitchen! (I had one in the garage, thank goodness.)  So not a lot of time for extra crafting.

I was able to make a few shamrocks for a floral arrangement that I had made awhile ago.

I also added some green lights:

Materials (for the shamrocks)

Cardstock: Green
Cricut Cartridge Paper Doll Dress Up Leprechaun (Shamrock) page 40 ( Shift Accessories 3)
Green Glitter Glue
Wire

I made six shamrocks. I glued a wire to three of them then glued the other three shamrocks on top of  them (lining them up). I then added some glitter glue to each side, let dry and then stuck them in the arrangement.

I'm hoping to be able to make a few cards soon. (Although I really need to clean up my crafting space....oh, what a mess that is!)

Thanks for stopping by...leave a comment (I love the feedback)...imagine what you could do........

A New Award

I just received this award from Jessica at Chick-n-Scrap. Thank you so much. You have no idea what it means. Please go check out her blog.

Now it's my turn to forward this award to 3-5 other bloggers that have less than 300 followers, that I have been following and deserve some recognition for their hard work.

1. Rachelles Place
2. Pat's Scraps
3. Small Bits of Paper
4. Eiyiyi

Go check out their blogs.

There are so many talented crafters out there. Every one should be recognized for their hard work.

Now I would imagine that you all craft because you love to do it, not because you think you'll get some award...but it is nice when you do. It can give your self esteem a little boost, and who can't use that every once in awhile.

Thank you again Jessica.

Don't forget about the Give-away. Leave a comment here. You have until tomorrow night. Thanks and good luck. Winner posted on Thursday.

Keep crafting, enjoy what you are doing and you just might inspire someone else...imagine what you could do...

Cartridge and Ribbon Storage...And A Touch of Spring

I have been having trouble with my computer lately...which is never a good thing. Couldn't upload photos yesterday, so I couldn't post this.

How do you store your cartridges? Do you keep the boxes or get rid of them? How about your ribbon? Do you keep it on the spools or take it off? Let me know what works for you.

I was not happy no matter what I tried. First, I had the cartridges in storage boxes and then I had them in drawers, but neither thing really worked for me. The next thing I tried was a bookshelf, which I liked better, but it took up so much space into the room and there was so much wasted space on the shelves (the shelves were like 10 1/2" wide and the boxes are only 4"). I had some ribbon in drawers and others were just sitting out wherever I could find room. It was really driving me crazy. Last Thursday, I was at IKEA (what a cool store), and saw another bookcase that I liked better, but to be honest I didn't want to spend $75 for it, Plus, it didn't solve my ribbon problems. So, I came home and sat down and designed a unit that I thought would work. On Friday, my husband and I went out to Lowes, just to check wood prices. Yes, of course, we bought some and the hardware. We came home and I marked all the wood for the cuts, etc. Then, on Sunday, my husband cut and put it all together. Now mind you, it still needs to be painted, but I'm very happy with it. What do you think?

The shelves are adjustable (poor man had to drill over 120 holes for that...lol), so I can change it as needed. I have three extra shelves (two are sitting under the unit and one is on another shelf...where the ribbon is sitting...this is because I ran out of the metal tabs that hold the shelves...so back to Lowes I have to go..lol). It only sticks out about 4 1/2" and it is right behind my desk (where my computer and Cricut Expression are). I think this is going to work for me. What do you think?

Now I'm not sure if you picked up on that we went shopping on Friday, but didn't make it until Sunday? Well, that was because on Saturday we went via a Rutgers bus trip to New York City to see Lion King. What a fabulous show! My youngest had seen it with my sister-in-law about 10-12 years ago, and he always said that I needed to go...but it had to be on Broadway. The show is always sold out and so expensive, I didn't think that I ever would get the chance. However, about a month ago, the tickets became available through a Rutgers event for students and alumni. Couldn't have worked out better...we all had a wonderful day in New York City and then the show in the evening. Absolutely great day!

Don't forget about the Give-away..just go to yesterday's post (click here) and leave a comment. (You have until tomorrow night). Winner will be posted on Thursday. Thanks.

Spring is just around the corner...
(can't come soon enough for me) and to see this in my front yard, gives me hope!

Enjoy the rest of the day...imagine what you could do...........
